Roll up! Roll up!: S.O.S de Barrio by Gruba
Roller blinds salvaged from the streets of Buenos Aires have been transformed into a collection of low slung lounge chairs and coffee tables designed by Argentinian studio Gruba.
Gruba have recycled hardwood roller blinds to create a collection of stylish and sustainable furniture.
Architects Maria Constanza Nuñez and Gabriel Pires Mateus came up with the idea for the S.O.S de Barrio collection after noticing the large amount of roller blinds being discarded across the city. The slats from the blinds are applied to low lying timber or oriented strand board frames to create a line of sleek, organic furniture.
