The Bobbin Chair by Aesthetic Decor
Recently, a (great) designer and (good) friend of mine invited me to come along with him to a lovely party in West Hollywood. The attention to detail was exquisite – from the sherbet and champagne cocktails to the delectable nibbles and treats. However, what really caught my (designer) eye was the delightful arrangement of furnishings and attention-to-detail accessories that so perfectly adorned the interior. I come to find out that the host was also the designer, hence the wonderful aesthetic throughout the space. And, instantly, one of my favorite pieces? The Bobbin lounge chair by Aesthetic Decor.
Its namesake and detail come from the turned ‘bobbin’ technique used in the 17th century to reduce the bulkiness of furniture and later became associated with the English rural style (circa 1880-1910 English Arts and Crafts). The Bobbin chair, designed by Richard Johnson, is available in alder, walnut, African mahogany and white oak. The adler finish is worn ebonized beech, medium distress with hand planing and stained rush. Other wood finish options include Italian fruitwood on adler with raw rush. Like the typical detail and elegance found in many of the Aesthetic Decor products, wood finishes add the final sophisticated touch. The upholstered elements are made with loose down on both the seat cushion and seat back, and have a flat welt detail. Castors appear on the front legs of the lounge chair. The Bobbin Chair has variations including a dining armchair, dining side chair, bar stool, counter stool, ottoman, settee, loveseat and even a bed.
The Bobbin Chair, among many of its other siblings in the Aesthetic Decor line of products, reminds us to savor the details, enjoy our surroundings and indulge in every fabulous party!
