“A design project nowadays has to contain elements of innovation,” says architect Iosa Ghini. His latest creation for Leucos USA brand ITRE, the Leva task lamp is the product of combining LED technology with Renaissance inspiration that informs its shape and joinery.

Made of sustainable materials combined with energy-saving LED technology, the lamp is a green option for task lighting

With the idea of creating something brand new out of something old, Ghini began with beech wood in a natural enameled finish, a material that today can be shaped in almost any way thanks to modern fabrication techniques. He added modern steel details and a head that distributes light from 99 LEds in a wide rectangle over the work surface with an opal white polymethyl-methacrylate diffuser.
