Sometimes slow and steady wins the race, but sometimes it’s best to act fast. Winner of this year’s NeoCon Innovation Award, Leland International‘s Fast Table has a shape-shifting base that makes it easy for users to generate many different table configurations in a hurry.

Designed by Carlos Tíscar, the table’s foldable, cross-shaped base allows it to accommodate a dozen different tops

The table allows users to create several different table configurations using only one base, made of a pivoting, X-shaped structure. Flags indicate the correct leg position for various round, square, and rectangular shapes and sizes that can be used for a range of seating arrangements. Base-to-table connectors are also designed to indicate correct attachment alignment, adding to the speed with which seating can be adjusted in a range of educational and contract environments. The table is also designed for easy storage; an optional transport trolley accommodates up to six bases and six tops.

The tabletop is available in standard laminates from Formica, Wilsonart, Pionite, and Nevamar, and its base is available in nine powder-coated steel finishes.
