Catch the Spark: Power Surge by Mohawk
The Mohawk Group is getting groovy with its attempts to foster workplace harmony. In time for NeoCon 2012, the carpet giant introduced Power Surge, a collection of three broadloom and modular carpets meant to address the generation gap at the office: "Sparked by today's multigenerational corporate world, the Mohawk Group created Power Surge to meet the needs of all generations, from Baby Boomers to Millennials, and encourage joint collaboration through coordinated design."
Geometric Designs for Multigenerational Office Space
Hopefully, the subtle geometrics and high-luster yarn of Power Surge will please workers of all ages. Amplitude and Frequency (broadloom) and Wavelength (broadloom and modular) feature complex and shifting horizontal patterns. In 13 colorways-from neutrals like Pulse (beige) and Undulate (brown) to dynamic hues like Ripple (blue) and Thrive (yellow)-the carpets in Power Surge marry "modern motifs with traditional style to support connectivity throughout a space."
And because it's Mohawk, Power Surge not only looks good, it is good: with 15 percent post-consumer recycled content in the broadloom carpet and 35 percent pre-consumer recycled content in the modular backing system, patterns in the Power Surge Collection "raise the bar of environmentally conscious design."
