Co-founded by Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia, Ankasa’s products are known for combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The Ahluwalias worked with Alexis Audette, operating vice president of design for Beacon Hill, along with artisans from across the globe: The collection’s embroideries are from studios in India, jacquards come from France and Italy, and linens from Belgium.

“Every artisan technique in the collection adds a new and unique dimension to the textile surface,” says Audette. “From the Arri and Couching embroidery to the Chatai stitching, we have developed a collection of surface depth and interest.””

Marais Fleur (background, in Stone) features the Arri embroidery stitch from India. Fabric is machine embroidered using two different machines: one for the metallic satin stitch and another for the chain stitch, a process that takes almost 24 per 14 yards of fabric. Maroc Anchor (foreground, in Java) is a sequined embroidery on a matte cotton/linen ground.
