Taking cue from mid-century Danish furniture design, the Acorn II seating range by Bark Furniture was launched last month at 100% Design in London.

Handmade at the designer’s studio in southwest England, the Acorn II seating range displays all the hallmarks of mid-century design; confidence in proportion, modesty in detail and simplicity of construction

The new collection comprises a low-backed dining chair and two-seat bench designed to compliment the studio’s existing Acorn dining table. Shown here in walnut with leather upholstery, the pieces are available in a choice of solid hardwoods and traditionally upholstered in a wide range of fabrics or leather.

About the manufacturer: Bark Furniture is a collaboration between husband and wife team, Jonathan Walter and Lakshmi Bhaskaran, both of whom are trained bespoke cabinetmakers with a passion for modern design. Having developed their craft creating one-off pieces for individual clients, in 2010 they decided to join forces and established Bark Furniture.
