Designers who are fans of fabric house, Hable Construction, will be pleased to learn that it has partnered with sustainable contract suppliers, LoomSource, to offer a selection of its bestselling fabrics, as well as 8 new patterns, to the contract market.
The Port & Cape collection marries the the artistic quality that Hable is known for with the performance required for highly trafficked indoor and outdoor spaces.
The collection is a bold mix of 14 patterns and 82 SKUs including a selection of Hable’s bestsellers as well as new exclusive patterns that range from vintage fabric inspired designs to a classic chevron.
LoomSource have strived to produce a range that retains the essence of Hable Construction products, keeping the weave structure simple and reminiscent of canvas. The fabrics are made with 100% Bella-Dura, an indoor/outdoor fabric that is extremely lightfast and colorfast, as well as bleach-cleanable, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. Patterns in the collection reach as high as 200,000 double rubs.
As with all of LoomSource’s fabrics, the Port & Cape collection is made with the environment in mind. It’s construction is made up of recycled fibers and it’s fully recyclable at the end of its life, making it a MBDC Cradle to Cradle Silver certified range.

About the designer: Texan sisters and design experts, Susan and Katharine Hable, founded the NYC-based textiles company Hable Construction in 1999. Bold, graphic patterns comprised of abstracted motifs dubbed with colorful, hand-drawn patterns are the hallmarks of the Hable aesthetic. The company's products are made by skilled artisans who treat their work as a careful craft, employing traditional screen-printing procedures in an old New England factory.
