Inspired by boat building craftsmanship, Swedish designer’s Form Us With Love have created the Keel table. For those who are not familiar with the anatomy of a boat, the Keel is the element that keeps the boat steady in the water.

The nautical-inspired Keel table has a simple and sturdy construction that manages to be both graceful and playful

Launched earlier this year at the Salone del Mobile in Milan by Italian brand De Padova, Keel is made from a single piece of curved oak veneer birch plywood, stabilized with a vertical divider that is inserted into the table like the centerboard that crosses the keel of a boat. As well as providing stability, this single piece of wood is painted in an eye catching color that evokes the pretty colors of sailboats in a harbor.

Available with a clear acrylic or white acrylic paint finish, the table is made in birch plywood with a natural oak effect composite wood veneer and plastic feet. The Verticle divider is made in HPL laminate available in a range of colors. For the white painted version the divider is in natural oak.
