Black and White: Expanded Colors from Artek
Even classics deserve a makeover once in a while. Earlier this year, Finnish design house Artek released its popular Hand Grenade (A110) and Golden Bell (A330) ceiling pendants in new black and white lacquer finishes.
Solid black or white aluminum bodies replace the polished brass rings of Alvar Aalto’s original 1950s designs
Now available in all black and all white lacquered aluminum body, the A110 pendant was originally designed by Alvar Aalto in 1952 for the Finnish Engineers’ Association building. Also created by Aalto for large projects in the 1950s, the A330 pendant is now available in white lacquered aluminum. In each case, the lamp’s traditional polished brass ring has been replaced to match the rest of the body, creating a sleeker look for modern interiors. Both lamps are UL listed.
The lighting is available to the trade as well as the consumer. It is offered through M2L, as well as all Artek showrooms and distributors. For more information or to locate a distributor, visit www.artekfurniture.us.
