The Loon Line of Guest Seating From Tom Deacon for Keilhauer
Like its animal namesake—most generally described as a “fish-eating, diving, webbed-footed bird of the Northern Hemisphere”—the Loon Chair by designer Tom Deacon for Keilhauer is lean and lithe, slim and sleek and possessed of the most precocious pelage.
Keilhauer’s Loon Chair is as Versatile as a Waterbird
In fact the truth of the Loon belies its reputation as daffy or dumb and is actually a rather quick-witted creature with a most comely aesthetic. Just so for Deacon’s version, as this chair of tubular steel is elegant and graceful for the way it integrates bottom with top.
In Deacon’s words, the whole line is characterized by its distinctive organicism: “apart from the seat, the entire chair—legs, arms and back—is defined by just two continuous surfaces flowing up out of the legs to create the graceful arcing forms of the molded elements.”
The Loon line is loaded with options. From the simple stacker (armless with molded nylon seat and back), to versions with conventional armrests or tablet arms, upholstered seats and backs, and counter or bar stool heights.
