Vanerum Stelter’s Ion Desk Creates a Good Vibe for Teachers and Students
Never let it be said that some teachers aren’t eminently approachable. For in my assorted years of education, I’ve had at least… well… two congenial sorts with whom I could pull up a chair and simply converse like a normal human person. The first was an eighth grade Life Sciences teacher with a ZZ Top beard and a borderline personality, and the second was a college Spanish Professor not much older than I. Leave it to manufacturer Vanerum Stelter, however, to widen the scope of these possibilities. The company’s Ion desk is light and lithe—eminently functional and even easier to move.

Vanerum Stelter’s Ion Desk Helps Teachers Get Into and Out of the Classroom
The first thing one notices about Ion is that it eschews the big, blocky oaken models of olden days for a compact, personable number made of Melamine and HPL. The slim design encourages students to broach their varied topics with instructors, as its slim worktop and sidearm tablet breaks space up evenly between pupil and instructor, thus encouraging productive collaboration.
In addition to the congenial worktops, Approach offers case options that maximize storage capacity while minimizing floor space. At a width of 32”, height of 30”, and depth of 24”, Approach easily accommodates keyboard tray, computer tower, varied files and folders, as well as any books and or personal items that merit open display.
Ion’s standard core construction is 44lb. density particle board with a 1.125” tabletop thickness and ¾” side and back panels. Worktop options include a 2 mm vinyl edgeband and Greenguard certified High Pressure Laminate in Vanerum Stelter’s full range of color options. The pivoting auxiliary worktop features an optional left or right configuration and 2.5” powder coated legs with 2” locking casters. All drawers offer full extension slides, and shelves are adjustable in 1” increments.
