Four New Styles From Yoma Textiles
Honestly, I don’t know whether it’s some imagistic sleight of hand or the not-so-subtle revelation of the true nature of the company’s fabrics, but the image on textile manufacturer Yoma’s homepage resembles nothing so much as a swirling dollop of raspberry sorbet, a cool and luscious scoop of orange sherbet. This is fiction, of course, and a mere testament to the expert craftsmanship that gives Yoma Fabrics their “sumptuous texture with a distinctive color palette to create an enduring collection.”
Salene. Manufactured by Yoma Textiles.
The Tantalizing Textures of Yoma’s Latest Textiles
The above is relevant to each and every of Yoma’s 50+ fabrics, but especially apropos of the company’s latest lines—Chantal Stripe, Etienne, Salene, and Bijoux—each of which justifies the Francophone elegance implicit in the name.
Salene (at top) is a durable and functional workhorse of a fabric that can also go toe to toe for stylish appeal with any contender. Sporting the environmental credentials of Yoma’s very own PVC-free “vinyl,” Salene “crosses effortlessly from high end residential to hospitality and even healthcare interiors.”
A 50% Viscose, 30% Modacrylic, 10% Polyester, and 7% Cotton blend, Chantal Stripe is offered in a 55” width and three colorways (mer, celadon, and multi) to capture the enduring texturality and visual dynamism of its vibrant three-way stripe.
Moving on to Etienne. This 32% Silk, 55% Viscose, 13% Polyester fabric with a 51-52″ width is soft and sumptuous. Colors such as rouge, aloe, straw, and mer blend together with mottled dots of greens, khakis, blues, and rusts, suggesting a Pointillist’s take on this intricate and appealing blended textile.
Lastly, Bijoux, “Inspired by vintage brocades and the rich timeless palette of handwoven carpets,” reminds me of the intricate woven fabrics of the front stage curtain at an old time movie house, or, even better, the tapestries of Russian royalty. Offered in seven colorways, Bijoux works equally well in both commercial and residential venues.
About the Manufacturer: For over 25 years, Yoma Textiles has designed and manufactured the most beautiful of woven fabrics. The company’s integrated textile collection runs the gamut—from the lovely, creamy, and sumptuous styling of Les Baux, to the perfection, precision, and resplendent sheen of Marseilles, to the floral splendor of Bardot, Yoma’s expansive range of textures and colors has something for every sensibility: “Our versatility and aesthetic scope allow us to provide our residential and contract clients with the highest quality of textiles along with a style that suits their personal and professional needs.”
