Cardboard Furniture Collection by Roberto Giamucci for Kubedesign
Cardboard furniture has come a long way since the first designers discovered its potential. Now we’ve reached the advent of sinuous shapes and complex silhouettes, innovative pieces and playful forms. You can see the development of the material in the new furniture collection designed by Roberto Giamucci for Kubedesign.

Cardboard Forms Get Funky and Functional
Furniture in this broad and curious collection include an armchair, shelving units, occasional tables, side chairs, tables, and a floor lamp. Incorporating bright punches of color, the cardboard furniture by Kubedesign attracts attention. Rectangular shelves edged in black look sleek and modern, almost camouflaging their construction material, while other pieces in the collection such as the armchair use pops of red to contrast with the cardboard.
For children’s rooms, cube-shaped storage provides lots of cubbies to hold toys in a form that resembles a video game creature. In libraries and offices, horizontal shelving punctuated by colorful rectangles that act as spacers between shelves work as refined and whimsical bookshelves. The teal spacers remind me of dominoes, making this storage unit a great conversation piece in a game room as well.
About the Manufacturer: Kubedesign is an Italian company that offers a broad range of green furniture made of cardboard. The company has experimented with everything from modular shelves to cardboard area rugs, always seeking to push the capabilities of this abundant material.
