See Farther, Get Smarter: Opti+ by Vanerum Stelter
Designed by Johan Heyvaerts for educational furniture company Vanerum Stelter, the Opti+ seating and desking system takes into account multiple factors related to the educational needs of students and teachers. First of all, Opti+ is designed to let everyone involved in learning see. Because the seating system has a higher seat, it allows clear visibility over other desks. So even if you’re in the very back row, you can see above the heads of students seated in front of you. This feature also makes Opti+ perfect for stadium seating configurations—without the sloping floor. But the great visibility doesn’t end there. Opti+ lets students and instructors see eye to eye, making one-on-one meetings easier for everyone—students don’t need to look up, and teachers don’t need to stoop.

Ergonomic Desking for Students of All Ages
The second thing that makes Opti+ rather farsighted is better ergonomics—something that’s common now in office venues but still easily forgotten in educational markets. An adjustable footrest means students of every age (and height) can maintain good body position. Other details make the student body comfortable. Active corners and a dynamic back let students move, and a waterfall edge and air-cushion shell keep the body comfortable during position shifts. Opti+ even provides lumbar support, because learners of all ages need good spine health.
