Bennett Bean Studio Custom, Hand Tufted Rugs

After ceramics artist Bennett Bean purchased his first antique Tibetan rug, he believed he could make a better one. Ever since, he has been designing beautiful rugs and improving the custom rug making process. The Bennett Bean Studio recently launched the BB&E Collection, an assortment of custom, hand-tufted rugs designed by Bean in collaboration with mixed media artist Elizabeth Rand.

Introduced at the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the rug collection is more than museum worthy. The two artists worked together to create an aesthetically striking and customizable collection exploring color, texture and new manufacturing techniques. The new BB&E rugs use a hand-tufted manufacturing technique and are offered in New Zealand wool and viscose options; whereas the studio traditionally employs Tibetan wool and fine silk. The process and new fabrics allow a faster production time and cost savings.
