Vintage Birdcage Chandelier from Restoration Hardware

Chandeliers are glamorous and grandiose, representing a high-class mentality often accompanied by afternoon cocktails and a fancy cigar. But thankfully they are accessible to the common folk, and not just for the rich and famous. Restoration Hardware offers up a unique design that adds interest to an otherwise dull space.

The Vintage Birdcage Chandelier is a reproduction made in rustic hand-wrought iron in a rusted bronze finish. The total package is hung by a 3" thick weathered marine rope, which could have easily been taken directly from an old ship.

The clean, simple lines of the cage are offset by the gorgeous chandelier. Draping crystals dripping overhead amaze and awe, their beauty contained by a feathered creature's prison. The open bottom gives easy access for cleaning, and the hinged doors let you change burnt out bulbs quickly.

These two very different objects, a birdcage and a chandelier, are molded together to create whimsical lighting.

Offered in five different sizes, ranging from extra small to extra large. Let's face it, not everyone has the space for a birdcage lamp that is 50" high and 30" in diameter, like in the case of the extra large size. It's nice to have smaller options that an still perform as show-stoppers. The extra small, small, and medium sizes use 12 60w candelabra bulbs, and the large and extra large use 18 bulbs.

Use a single handcrafted cage as a focal point or in a cluster for a greater impact.
