The Modern Pot Rack by Merkled

Powder-coated steel that looks shiny and new is sometimes the best way to keep your home looking ultra modern and immaculate. It’s so shiny and so new, in fact, that its well-kept secret of a past life is hidden. The glossy Pot Rack by Merkled is the perfect example of a useful kitchen storage device that has seen the light of day in a completely different form: as the end of a loom at a weaving company.

In Ice Blue, Burnt Orange or White, the Pot Rack by Merkled Adds an Extra Special Spice to Kitchen Interiors.

Salvage your steel and apparently you can coat just about anything with a brand new zest for living. Kari Merkl would be the first to admit it. Her dual design studio locations – one in Portland, Oregon and the other in Chicago, Illinois – combine forces with a weaving company down the road (from which studio location, they don’t say) to create the Pot Rack. Reusing steel loom ends from the company requires no manipulation of their loom form to get the end result. Instead, they maintain their crooked, twisted branches for a funky effect that works.

Choose between three colors: Ice Blue, Burnt Orange, and White. In one size (approximately 1.5′ x 3′), each one is made different from the next. For the very reason, none of their shapes have gone through processing – making sure their eco-friendly nature is kept through a sincere recycling of purpose. And by powder-coating the already durable steel material, the Pot Rack is able to show off its strength by holding everything from whisks to cast iron pots and pans, says Merkled.

Bright in all three shades, the Pot Rack by Merkled is a great way to add a fun, nature-like dimension of branches above your kitchen that is still as modern as the glossy appliances that surround it.
