Stringimi Table Lamp by Alessandro Marelli
The wood and furniture industry from Milan has been aware of designer Alessandro Marelli since Enzo Mari used his eye for design in a few of his projects, notably the methodical preparation he contributed to for Mari's exhibition "The Art of Design" at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Turin. These days, he’s been using his reputation in wood to create a lamp he calls the Stringimi Table Lamp.

A Repurposed Table Clamp and Solid Wood Base Help Create the Stringimi Table Lamp by Alessandro Marelli
The Stringimi is a table lamp built into a solid wood base that uses a “shop class” repurposing of a very specific, helpful object: a table clamp. Attached to the wood base, both the clamp and the stem of the lamp are one. As Marelli states of his table lamp design, “Stringimi is a ready-made rectified. A tribute to the ‘clamp’ as the main object of the connection used in many processes.”
“It ‘s a metaphor for the aid given to the union,” he continues. “(Between a) work tool, (and) the innate quality formal, decontextualized object at home.” The aesthetic is not as industrial as one might expect of a table clamp. The Stringimi Table Lamp’s flat wood base and eco-friendly repurposing of materials (the table clamp) finds a new home aiding in the illumination of everything tabl- and desk-related.
The wood and metal base that forms the Stringimi Table Lamp by Alessandro Marelli is a beautiful way to showcase the variety possible in creating eccentric lighting combinations for your home office or table.
