Gorenje Pininfarina: Black Glass and Stainless Steel Kitchen Collection
European appliance company Gorenje, which advertises “design that lasts,” offers a sleek, dark option in kitchen appliances called Gorenje Pininfarina. This collection combines two sleek, shiny materials—black glass and stainless steel—with simple, unobtrusive controls. Gorenje Pininfarina also combines performance with style: “technological perfection and imaginative form.”

Hidden Controls, Sleek Design
The highly reflective surfaces in this kitchen collection mirror “the life of the room.” Gorenje Pininfarina includes a built-in oven, fridge freezer, gas hob, cooker hood, and decorative panels for the dishwasher and microwave oven. All of the pieces have cleverly designed features. For example, the refrigerator includes an innovative window that allows users to view the inside, and the induction hobs have MultiSlider electronic touch control. Beneath all the hard surfaces, “new technologies and features are hidden, all of which adhere to the main concept—continuum.”
All the bells and whistles come from Gorenje’s research and development team, and while they’re impressive, it’s the look of Gorenje Pininfarina that really attracts users. The idea behind the collection “is a bold and energetic meeting between opposite poles: tradition and rock-solid stability versus sleek futurism and unpredictability.” Gorenje hopes that this kitchen group will “become an icon.”
