The Carle Foundation is a perfect example of how these flooring options can transform a space. They wanted fun, colorful flooring in the pediatric areas and relaxed, rich flooring in the women’s areas. Using Armstrong’s sheet products, they accomplished both styles. In the children’s section, the company chose to use Translations in different colors to create bug shapes such as dragonflies. With a range of hues such as Cherry Red and Jungle Green, Translations provided a safe, practical option that also introduced an element of whimsy. With its subtle marbleized visuals, Translations can also be soothing, for more traditional healthcare applications.
Timberline gives floors the “visual warmth of natural hardwood with the high-performance of a resilient flooring.” From American Oak to Dark Wenge, Timberline is available is a broad spectrum of wood finishes. The Carle Foundation also put Timberline to good use in the women’s area, which was designed to replicate high-end hotel style. By using three different wood species in the hallways and patient rooms, the hospital was able to create beautiful contrast while ensuring flexibility: in the future, if the hospital needs new furniture, they have a range of options.
Translations and Timberline are 6 ft. 7 in. wide, up to 72 ft. long. The commercial sheet flooring has a low-maintenance UV-cured finish, making it last much longer than other commercial flooring.
