Far be if for me to eschew such ablutional temptations, but the current buzz vis a vis Arzo concerns Delta’s patented Proximity Sensing Technology. This smart feature is newly available for the sleek Arzo Faucet. And as the name might suggest, Proximity facilitates easy hands-free operation—all that’s required of the user is a quick flicker of nimble fingers.

Proximity works by creating an invisible field within four inches of the faucet: “once the user’s hand enters the field, the faucet is turned on. When the user removes their hands from the water stream, the faucet turns off within two seconds.” Proximity’s sensing technology works from any and all angles, meaning it’s more reliable than conventional sensors, which are often constrained by a limited activation field. Arzo also features an automated shut-off so—in the event of any unintentional obstructions—the faucet’s flow stops after 45 seconds.

Other perks of Proximity and Arzo include a low flow rate (1.5 GMP/5.7 L/pm)—which helps the piece achieve LEED certification—and battery or hardwire options. Available in chrome or brilliance stainless, the solid brass Arzo is “a smart, modern design that continues to be a highly sought-after style for public facilities.”
