Luminous Textile Acoustic Panels by Philips and Kvadrat Soft Cells
Kvadrat Soft Cells are patented panels that control sound absorption, originally conceived by architect Jesper Nielsen in the late ’90s, but finding their perfect patent in 2006. Working together with Philips, the two companies have come up with a fresh design entitled Luminous Textile that uses LED lighting and acoustic paneling to create an entirely different playing field for interior walls.
Luminous Textiles. Designed and Manufactured by Philips and Kvadrat Soft Cells.
Luminous Textiles Combine the Art of Lighting and the Innovative Acoustic Paneling to Create the Perfect Interior Surface Design.
Promoting well-being, Luminous Textiles integrate lighting into the surfaces of a building to develop a mood with acoustic properties which are conducive to maximizing productivity. They are created using multi-colored LEDs within textile panels that can display content customized by specific clients. Thanks to Kvadrat’s extensive knowledge of fabric design and their push for constant innovation into fields that incorporate new ways to use surface design, Luminous Textiles came to life with the collaboration of Philips and their cutting edge approach to design technology.
Luminous textile panels come in standard and customized sizes. Using a 60 mm pitch fixed on acoustic foam, the colorful panels use bolts and magnets to ensure precise positioning. To keep it simple, installation keeps the diver box and power supply integrated into the panel. This leaves the only two connections to the standard power cable and Ethernet cord, which easily uploads and manages the shades of lit content.
The durable Luminous Textile by Philips and Kvadrat Soft Cells is a unique collaboration from the experts in lighting and fabric design that creates an architectural, acoustic solution that shows off the 21st century advancements in gorgeously functional acoustic panel design.
