For Good Health: Foundation by Stylex
The in-house design team at Stylex has created a new collection of stylish seating for the contract market. Foundation Healthcare offers the best of both worlds—“pull-up guest seating with a fully upholstered ‘club’ chair aesthetic.” The chairs feature visible stitching, which emphasizes the clean lines of the product. Slim and simple, Foundation avoids adhering to strict lines with its curved back and slanted back legs.

Contract Seating with Great Support
Behind the good looks lies an added bonus: Foundation offers an excellent foundation. The chair features resilient webbing, lumbar support, and advanced frame materials that provide additional flexing back support. While the angle of the seat back looks lovely, it is also functional: Foundation is upright enough to be a good option for a diverse population of patients.
Stylex gives a plethora of upholstery choices from some of the most established textile manufacturers: Momentum, Crypton, Knoll, Maharam, and Designtex. There are also fourteen finishes for Foundation—everything from Bright Chrome to Glossy Black, Metallic Bronze to Textured Khaki. Given all the choices, this seating can transform itself while always maintaining its strong foundation. Stylex calls the collection “accommodating”—because it is “relaxed, yet in control.”
About the Manufacturer: Stylex began as a family-owned company in 1956 when the Goldens sought to offer more refined alternatives in seating. Their goal was lofty: “Their idea was not simply to be a better seating manufacturer, but also to understand seating better… how it is used and how it complements its surrounding environment.” Decades later, the company remains in the family; it is owned and run by Bruce and John Golden. At Stylex, they still study how seating is used in order to “more rapidly refine the aesthetics, performance, value, and service that create truly engaging products.”
