Earthen Glass by Interstyle Leaves Something to the Imagination

When one hears the statment “something left to the imagination,” it usually means because nothing was left to the imagination. This is typically not a compliment. I personally like to use my imagination to fill in the blank and appreciate when a company doesn’t wear sustainability on its sleeve. Interstyle has created a new product with a name that suggests there is more beneath the surface than a modern, architectural tile.

Earthen Glass. Designed by Interstyle.

Interstyle recently released the Earthen Glass collection to add to their ceramic and glass product line. The architectural look of the tile comes from its crisp edge which gives off a modern feel that many standard floor tiles do not. Each of the nine available color choices is earthy in tone and references the recycled content and environmental intent of the product. Crafted using a small batch extrusion process, the tile is made of equal parts recycled glass and regionally sourced clay. Some of the colors include Peet, Terra and Cinder.

Interstyle has a diverse collection of tiles that include recycled content. Within the recycled collection they offer standard glass tile looks that one would expect from glass tiles as well as some other creative options. Aquarius is a style of rustic block tiles that are clear glass with suspended “gemstones” for colorful accent piece. The Agates style imitates river stones by using recycled glass to bring a natural feel to wall tile. Interstyle also makes an architectural glass surface series that is a marriage between layers of rock and candy in the process of being pulled. The surfaces have depth and color that is truly unique for a flat building element.
