As your fellow design watchdog on duty, one of my eyes watches for the new designers, the noteworthy collaborations, and the technology that backs them up. The other filters through the layers of previous design that reminds of where we’ve come from. Today the Mossi Collection by THG and Lalique threw me for a loop.

Sweetly Adorned in Crystals, the Mossi Collection by THG and Lalique Brings High-End Beauty into Chrome or Luxbrass Finishes

Not only does the new faucet and coordinating accessories of the Mossi Collection draw upon the standard, high quality design that THG is known for, it also combines a sprinkling of fine crystals from Lalique for a visual and palpable experience. Because each fitting is adorned with a select amount of the droplet-shaped, crystals in either clear or sun tones, the overall effect stays less glamorous than an overdone crystallized piece. In addition, the finishes of either polished chrome or luxbrass that are offered by THG match the shades of crystal to allow for a more blended combination of materials. Pair the tall, flowing faucet from its base with an ornamented showerhead, shower valve, towel rack, etc. to create the perfect high-end compliment to a deep soaker tub or glossy granite washbasin.
