Content While Grounded: First Class Seats by Werksdesign for Brunner
When we say the words “first class” we typically think about walking past the frequent fliers and executives occupying the frontal lobe of an airplane cabin. Although I don’t condone a stroll up to that picturesque first class lavatory, I will say you’ve got options – other than being humiliated when you’re turned away – to feeling included in first class. When Werksdesign came up with their design of the First Class chair for Brunner, I can only assume they were once in our shoes.

Modern First Class Seating Without Jet Lag? The Latest Chairs by Werksdesign for Brunner
The German designers state on the Brunner website that “First Class is characterized by its clear design, its great ergonomics – and most of all, its particular practicality”. This all sounds similar to the luxurious airplane seats until you see the chairs themselves. Clearly developed for the contract market, the First Class chairs of Brunner are no recliners anchored into the frame of a 747. Instead, First Class is a new line of chairs that invisibly interlink at their frame other First Class chairs. They can be placed into straight rows and dismantled at a moment’s notice.
They are strong and can be made panic-proof (if requested for compliance with the requirements of venues). Constructed for use as a vertical stacker with the installment of specially-made glides, First Class makes storage easy. In fact, you can stack up to fifteen chairs at once, taking up the footprint of just one chair and opening up space for other items, if necessary.
Brunner is a company whose tagline spells out the spatial efficiency us humans find so useful on our populating planet: “We make furniture. Furniture for people. Furniture that makes sense.” Use their seats in conference rooms, in airports, lobbies, at the office, or even at the theater. Versatile color options made right in their Rheinau plant makes the possibilities for color adn design virtually endless.
If you’re not flying first class on your next flight, try including the grounded version with the same exclusive feel in your next interior project.
