Terra Legno Engineered Wood Flooring
Terra Legno engineered flooring is an engineered plank flooring that takes the seasonal variability out of wood flooring. Natural wood flooring expands and contrasts with the changing seasons and can cause cracking or warping. Engineered wood flooring is also more durable than natural wood flooring and can therefore be used in harsher environments. Terra Legno plank is pre-finished with seven layers of coating which improves wearability and durability.

Engineered flooring is made by pressing several layers of wood together at right angles to create a dimensionally stable piece that is not stronger in any one direction. This allows for the use of smaller pieces of lumber, which protects old-growth forests and encourages the use of farmed trees. Terra Legno produces up to three times more square feet of flooring per tree harvested than standard wood flooring. Terra Legno uses FSC certified wood and low emitting glue to make their product as green as possible.
Terra Legno flooring comes in a rainbow of colors, from traditional cherry hues through more rugged, modern looks such as the Fumato Soppalco line. I personally like the Fumato Soppalco line for its weathered texture and desaturated colors. More classic looking wood colors and grains can be found in the Annoso or Contemporaneo Esotico lines, which include blond, red, and medium brown tones. Engineered wood is as versatile as traditional wood in appearance, and more versatile in its applications.
