Toulemonde Bochart’s Playful Dragoon Carpet
The Dragoon by François Champsaur pours out an M.C. Escher-esque style of graphical artwork onto a playful rug this year with plenty of fire. In the black and white, honest design of the carpet there are what the Toulemonde Bochart might call a “profusion of prime lines” that makes the eye get “lost in the circumvolutions, in search of this mythical animal” that is embraced between spinning lines that wrap around and spin through the image.
Liven Up the Floor with the Twisting Design of the Dragoon Rug by François Champsaur for Toulemonde Bochart
The rug is manufactured with the French textile family of Toulemonde Bochart‘s classic help. After all, they’ve been in the business since 1939 only to become a specialist in the early 70s doing creative designs for the home. By the early 80s, Toulemonde Bochart hands over the design of the lines to fresh, young designers and begins to take other measures to ensure their products meet both fashion-forward and socially responsible levels. These days, they are advocates against child labor and are strong proponents of environmental protection through the use of intelligent dyes, materials, and consolidating different shipments into one.
Because Toulemonde Bochart wants to be sure their carpet factories will meet water treatment standards, they prefer natural materials that are also renewable. Also – and this is just an added bonus to it being a very environmentally-conscious company – choose between a 180 X 270 cm and 250 X 350 cm that fits nicely into a child’s room, living room, or play room. However playful the Dragoon rug may be, it’s tasteful design creates a great centerpiece on warm wood floors.
