c: A New Kind of Sleeve for Elegant TV Watching
We’ve all heard of the Snuggie, but what about the Snug-It? You may not be able to wrap your self in it and wear it around the house, but the Snug-It does have the potential to make television watching more stylish. An adaptable, tool-free furniture system, Snug-It takes away the horror of the lost screw or useless plastic “screw driver.” Anyone whose ever put together a piece of IKEA furniture can appreciate the value of tool-less assembly.

Snug-It is a simple two-element system that uses wood slabs with curved edges and “sleeves” which lock the pieces together. The sleeves are made from 100% recycled aluminum and come in a variety of configurations that allow for corners, joints and multiple piece locking. The wood is either FSC certified or reclaimed wood which is sourced from TerraMai, a notable reclaimed wood distributer. Snug-It allows for numerous configurations, from small pieces to large pieces, encompassing everything from shelving to bedroom furniture. An added bonus of Snug-It is the ability to create an entirely new piece of furniture from the same group of elements, saving both money and the environment.
Snug-It is a product of EcoSystems, a creative eco-friendly design company. Their BADA table has also been covered by 3Rings, which is another adaptable furniture design that is functional and attractive. The Bamba line was featured at BKLYN Designs in 2009 and has similar notes as the Snug-It system but a little less refined. While Bamba looks more like flat-ship furniture made from plywood, Snug-It is the mature iteration that is more elegant and requires even less effort to assemble.
