Most people spend a minimum of 1/3 of their day, 5 days a week at work, much of which is spent sitting. The computer age has taken us away from physical labor and placed us at desks where we stare at screens and talk on the phone for hours ad nauseam. This has lead to a series of work related injuries which are a result of not moving enough, or holding still in an unsupported position. The office chair has never been a more vital part of our health, and as sad as that may be, it is a problem that can’t be ignored.

Steelcase

is offering a solution for office workers via the Think chair. Glen Oliver Löw, the designer of Think, has spent that last decade creating clean, modern designs that exhibit their function. "Design isn't just about style. It's about integrity of materials, functional integrity and intent. Think is a truthful chair - the result of open dialogue between engineers, environmentalists, and the designer."

Think has been designed to understand how a person sits and adjust itself intuitively. The key to an ergonomic chair is adjustability, which Think offers in droves. Your Profile has seat and back flexors which track the movement of your spine and pelvis. Your Power Mechanism allows you to recline in a supported position based on your body weight, which works in conjunction with the flexible seat edge which relieves pressure on the back of your legs. The adjustable arms pivot, move up and down, and retract for optimum arm position. Finally, Your Preference Control allows for adjustability based on weight activated, weight activated with at 20% boost, mid-stop recline, and upright back lock. All this combined with a Cradle to Cradle TM Product Certification makes sitting more friendly to your body and the environment.
