At #NeoCon10: Rebel in modular style with Ditto by 3form
If you weren’t satisfied your teenage or freshman year of college rebellion, join the club. I always wished I’d done something outlandish, something that could be exposed in tip-of-the-iceberg quantities while at dinner parties, or shared in depth to those who may be able to “learn from my mistakes” someday. For anyone else who feels they missed out on the perfect opportunity to do something totally insane but knows they’re too mature now, 3form introduced an adult menu of X-shaped architectural solutions they call Ditto.
Ditto. Designed by 3form.
Made from the eco-friendly material Varia Ecoresin®, the Ditto system uses just 40% recycled content. It’s uninhibited nod to spatial freedom and expression under your roof can make you and your space full of 90-degree corners the place your “average home syndrome” friends dream of. A few examples of the range of modular Ditto projects include: translucent walls, room partitions, and wall-to-ceiling cove-like structures.
More of the Ditto beauty will shine through when the rounded, X-shaped pieces arrive in the mail. Shipped inside a single package, each piece is just 1/16 inch thick and the assortment of colors can be ordered online to your exact preference, from a user-friendly online configuration system that is available on the 3form website.
Not only is it easy to handle the shipment, but actually connecting the dots – or in this case, the prefabricated X’s – is also a cinch with the polycarbonate connectors that come included. Each piece is 15 inches across and depending on the size of project you choose, the package will contain 72 (wall decor), 144 (wall partitions), and 216 (wall-to-ceiling canopies) that join together and are capable of bending slightly to make curving seem effortless.
After all, an aesthetic investment in your space may or may not have something to do with a miniature rebellion against the bland interior space you call home. But impulse involvement or not, let’s take advice from those who have gone before and just say Ditto to “those who do not risk will never gain”.
