Live from #NeoCon10: A SITE for storage lies within Davis Furniture
Interactive brainstorming in the workplace occurs in most companies these days. Everything from a piece of paper and a pen to the latest laptops and web conferencing on plasma screens supplement meetings. More often than not though, the traditional conference room is not the ideal place for having a “lightbulb” moment. Other than the SITE Collection by Davis Furniture, the majority of furniture manufacturers stick to the same height of a table and simply change the length and width, making it rectangular, circular, or square. But this year at NeoCon, Davis shows us how it’s done with a lower level, relaxed collection of tables, chairs, benches, and storage.

The four generation-old Davis Furniture company knows good design. Based in High Point, North Carolina, a town known for its furniture manufacturing, they have been a pillar in the market since the mid-1800s. But in the 2010 marketplace, the introduction of their SITE collection focuses on reconfigurable elements of design for “in between” spaces – like lobbies, concourses, etc. – that can be put to use to flush out work-related conversations in a relaxing setting… or perhaps just to relax.
Within the colleciton, the SITE storage furniture offers exceptional functionality. Serving as a cabinet, chest, TV stand, and countertop, it is the perfect accompaniment to the “take a load off” vibe of the seating and tables of SITE without the lazy-boy cushions that make staying awake during post-lunch collaborations a major feat. SITE storage units are easy on the eye from either side, and provide a functional partition that separates a barren, open space into two separate meeting areas.
Danny Davis is the current President of Davis Furniture Industries. Recently they resurfaced with a new motto that speaks to the latest SITE collection in the best way possible, “design is a choice”. For companies looking to leap into the 21st century of utilizing office spaces, Davis explains their new marketing strategy as a new philosophy that is said to be “all about the product, and the product is about design. At Davis, with every product we bring to the drawing table...the focus is always about design...the aesthetics of the design...the function of the design...and the value of the design."
