Green with Envy: Atmosfera by Il Bagno Bandini
Revitalize your bathroom with a twist of lime in a twisty collection by Italian company Il Bagno Bandini. Their Atmosfera Collection adds a punch of color everywhere–a green as bright as a Rousseau leaf or a Fauve forest. The Atmosfera Collection includes a bath furniture for washbasin (their term), a wall chest of drawers (also their term), a dresser, and a mirror–all in that glorious green that’s as lurid as Midori (and as intoxicating).

The signature piece, the bath furniture as Bandini calls it, comes in two sizes in order to accommodate one or two sinks. And speaking of sinks, don’t opt for something boring to top off that sinuous vanity. Il Bagno Bandini offers a crystalline sink made of PlxEvolution® that resembles a lemon hard candy–it’s that tart too. Luce, the accompanying sink to Atmosfera, uses a material that “has the particularity of combining transparency, lightness and colour, with a very high resistance to scratches and wear.” It’s the perfect sink to crown the Atmosfera vanity, carrying on the excessive curves and sinuous sweeps of the design.
If you’d like to know how the Italian company has created this dynamic bathroom ensemble, it’s with the use of “multi-layer bended wood that alternates curved lines and asymmetrical and inclined profiles.” Atmosfera cannot be complete without its oval shelving. A wall-mounted open unit arranges the ooid forms in a zig-zag pattern, while the chest of drawers stacks the elliptical shapes directly atop one another. Il Bagno Bandini describes the look of this collection quite well: “Atmosfera gives back to the bathroom a unique and innovative look because of its smooth and statuesque shape characterized by dynamic outlines that are chasing into an incessant formal game.” Just in case you prefer the pleasures of orange, also take a look at the company’s Onda Collection, which puts me in mind of Gaughin’s Tahitian period.
