Minotti’s Jagger Collection; Reclining in Style with Modular Seating

There are straight-backed people—and there are those of us who like to lounge. If you’ve read any of my previous posts, then you know I fall into the latter category. I did go on and on about Starck’s Privé Collection, and now it’s got some competition. The Italian firm, Minotti, offers us lazybones the Jagger Collection, a suite of modular pieces you can join in any way you like to maximize lounging. Single lounging, duo lounging, group lounging—whatever your preference, Jagger has got a solution.

Jagger. Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti.

With low-back and high-back variations, low armrests and high armrests, the pieces in this furniture group cater to every languorous mood. There are loveseats, sofas, chairs, lounges, and corner pieces. Combine them this way or that, Jagger is like a puzzle for the laggard. Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, who also created Pinch (a 3rings favorite), Jagger is a dream for the slothful. I love that the pillows can be moved according to your supine needs. With fixed and sectional sofas, the collection also offers great, big, fat modules—nameless pieces of furniture akin to a bed (my favorite). For the maids and butlers who cater to the idle, the fabric covers on cushions and frames are fully removable. Alas, the leather is not.

The furniture magnate has been in business for more than 60 years. Their experience is particularly important, given their somewhat self-congratulatory praise: “We at Minotti boast a unique type of taste, arising from within the Milanese design system.” You have to admire that narcissistic Italian streak—when it’s justified by their luxurious collections such as Dordoni’s Jagger.
