I’m excited to say that I’ve learned a new word/phrase today. We’ve all heard of ergonomics, defined as: (n) the applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort. But have any of you heard of cognitive ergonomics? As you might have guessed, cognitive ergonomics focuses on productivity and comfort in the work space via factors of the mind, not the body; this process speaks to a study of how a person works in his own space, but additionally how that same person might interact and collaborate with colleagues.
