A Spherical Kitchen of Sheer Genius
It’s confession time here at 3rings: while I rarely scare away from any articulation culinary or gastronomic, when it comes to sweating it out in the kitchen I run (nay, I sprint) in the opposite direction. The ersatz feminist inside me likes to believe that it's my non-conforming to traditional gender roles, but in truth its just basic lack of motivation. Today however I am here to celebrate the Sheer Kitchen, which is notorious for being the only carbon-fiber kitchen in the world.
Spherical Kitchen. Designed and manufactured by Sheer.
We here at 3rings often pride ourselves for being purveyors of modern trends that ransack conventional design archives and emerge as restyled, coveted, contemporary objects. Not only does the Spherical Kitchen bristle with panache, but it also hints to a fecund experience. Flaunting an unabashed glamor and a progressive sensibility, the Spherical Kitchen is a singular interpretation of what the modern kitchen should look like.
The monobloc circular unit measures 148cm in diameter and is divided into two spheres making it a kitchen that understands the space constraints led by modern day masses. While it's hard to ignore its sculptural and monochromatic elements, what makes it truly astonishing is that it's fully functional. The lower sphere comprises of the cooking area and a double sink. The stainless steel enclosure around the cooking area also has two electric switches in addition to four burners, a pullout table, and various other cooking accessories. When the kitchen is closed, then Sphere moonlights as an incandescent object by illuminating the surrounding area. Sheer (pardon the pun) genius don't you think?
Gone are the days that gossip would swirl around the kitchen area when it used to be the place to indulge in some family camaraderie among the clattering of the utensils. Along with urban living comes modern demands, and its no surprise that the A&D design scene is teaming with a multitude of kitchens that seem to target what some may label the yuppie chic. Some might call it progress, while others might call it a necessary evil, however there is no denying that the quintessential kitchen is defying stereotypes and that the Sheer Spherical Kitchen encapsulates this emerging design trajectory flawlessly!
