At NeoCon: HÅG Sideways
For Scandinavian-based company HÃ…G, it's all about movement and redefining the usually monotonous and dry workspace.
HÃ…G by izzy will be exhibiting a handful of products at NeoCon this week, and I think their big message for the show is this: contemporary design and comfort are not mutually exclusive and often converge flawlessly to create something tremendously potent.
HÃ…G Sideways. Manufactured by HAG by izzy.
The new Sideways from HÃ…G by izzy both broadens the ambit and also epitomizes the company's motto of "movement and variation.” Thanks to its ergonomically designed body, the chair manages to achieve a design breakthrough by its expression of design fluidity, seldom seen in the workplace.
This fresh stacking chair does away with all the clich©s by incorporating armrests that curl around the back of the chair. This grants generous support even when one is sitting sideways. The grid back and chair seat are available in black, ochre, sand and olive with a standard black armrest / back handle. By opening up to all directions, the chair brings a hint of informality in the workspace which encourages a more open and stimulating dialogue between colleagues.
HÃ…G is not averse to pushing design boundaries and also has a strong environmental conscious. The Sideways Chair hence is GREENGUARD and ISO 14025 certified, with a polished four-star base made from 100 percent recycled aluminum. Materials like recycled polypropylene and recycled stainless steel make the chair almost 98 percent recyclable.
Sideways is a veritable attempt by HÃ…G by izzy to obliterate all those utilitarian design clich©s that act as a roadblock in achieving a creative and breathable office space. Every side is the "right side" in Sideways, making us appreciate HÃ…G by izzy's creative foresight.
