Stand, Forget, Breathe, Acknowledge, and Observe.

Five inconspicuous words which when clubbed together form a powerful mantra that can propel us to achieve personal and spiritual growth. While attaining Nirvana is always at the back of our mind, slummin in reality makes it almost an intangible concept. Relax, I am not going to exhort the virtues of spirituality, but want to draw your attention to the Dharma Lounge.

Dharma Lounge. Designed and manufactured by Palette Industries.

Dharma has different connotations in both Hinduism and Buddhism and in Sanskrit the term Dharma represents the fundamental order in nature and life considered to be in harmony with that order. Generically it may mean duty, righteousness and an all-embracing moral order. The Dharma Lounge by Palette Industries hence seeks to interpret the concept of Dharma in its own experimental way by blending text and spirituality.

Palette Industries, which is based in Canada strives to conceptualize designs on the basis of diversity, evolution and fruition. The Dharma Lounge pays homage not only to the typography industry but also exemplifies how art transcends culture. The chair becomes an almost integral part of its owner’s numinous journey and is the perfect paradigm of how a product forges a bond with its participant.

Stand, Forget, Breathe, Acknowledge, and Observe.

The Dharma Lounge has been constructed from an eco-friendly material so the whole purpose of correct living is not lost! The non-toxic material is water-based and is mixed together with a natural fiber to avoid usage of fiberglass resin. To actually etch out the golden words, I think Palette Industries took the laser-cutting route and while the inspiration may be steeped in antiquity, the craftsmanship is certainly not!
