No. 10 Letterbox
The No. 10 Letterbox, designed by Mark Naden of TODA, was made to mimic the look of a standard no. 10 envelope. The design is simple and smart, with a slightly curved lip for easy access to mail inside. It is made of steel and is zinc-plated to protect against weathering and rust.

I’d love to see this mailbox used in an apartment complex. Although a few alterations might be necessary for it to work in that application. First, the mailboxes would need to be labeled with unique unit numbers. This is a simple task for a graphic designer-easily solved with a bit of subtle typography. And second, in terms of security, I’m sure you can’t lick this thing closed. A key lock system would need to be integrated somehow without destroying the integrity of the design. The mailbox is manufactured and distributed by HouseArt and is available in a bunch of cool colors.
As explained by the creator, “the duality in the relationship between the box and what goes in the box makes for an interesting visual play.”
