Sponsored by Bernhardt Design, the studio puts together talented, savvy young designers and their prototype products with appropriate potential manufacturers. We’ve asked all ten designers the same three questions. Check back weekly to see what they say.

Firm: Angell Wyller Aarseth
Country: Norway
Number of years in practice: The three designers graduated from Oslo National Academy of the Arts Spring 2010.

Describe your piece for ICFF Design Studio in 3 words.
Immortal beautiful tools.

How does it relate to your body of work as a whole?
The “Handle me” series is our first design together, and is sort of a manifesto of what we wish to contribute with to the design scene. The project contains our core values, which is to pursue characteristic beauty by designing basic functional objects. We believe that many products would be found redundant if the essential ones were designed well.

What is your favorite thing to do in NYC?
Among many favorite things to do in NYC is breakfast at Pink Pony on Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side, which has the best omelet in town. This is according to Christoffer who has lived in NYC for three months. Øyvind has never been there before, he’s totally looking forward to it.
