Coalesse is the sole sponsor of the National Design Awards Winners’ Panel on Monday, October 15, 2012 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Altman Building (135 W. 18th St, New York City). The special panel discussion, moderated by Richard Saul Wurman, includes five 2012 National Design Award winners, one of which is Scott Wilson, designer of Coalesse’s SW_1 collection, which includes the PowerPod. Panelists will share their inspiration and drive as designers, discuss the state of contemporary design in America, and participate in a Q&A with the 400-500 audience members.

This collection, inspired by floor-based research and the need to “spread out,” can accommodate the casual seating needs in a variety of settings – residential, hospitality, private office, higher education, or wherever an informal, fun, and comfortable lounge is needed.

The Hosu color palette was curated exclusively for the collection by Urquiola. It features six, eye-catching colors in textured fabric: green, midnight blue, red, dove gray, charcoal, and mustard yellow. For added comfort, the lumbar pillow comes standard and is available in 3 select complementary colors (dove gray, dark gray, red), COM and COL. The collection is a simple statement of line. It comes in two sizes: a 36” wide personal lounge and a 64” wide two-seater lounge, each with rear and side storage pockets. The personal lounge offers additional optional features including technology-accessibility for mobile devices. It can also be specified to convert to a chaise-style lounge.

Designed by Coalesse, the Exponents collection offers a comprehensive range of conferencing products, including credenzas and mobile technology displays. Its architectural design language is composed of simple vertical and horizontal planes that can feature a variety of materials to bridge to architecture or other furniture elements in an interior, while supporting the technology requirements of today’s collaborative spaces.

Available in a wide range of sizes and heights, CG_1 will integrate in lounges, lobbies, informal meeting rooms, and enclaves. A wood and/or Corian inner leg and foot detail provides a subtle stylistic expression in an unexpected place.
