The award-winning office furniture designers Teknion have recently opened their newest studio on State Street, in Boston.
Located near the historic Long Wharf in the centre of Boston’s financial district, the new studio is situated on the 3rd floor in a 7,900 square foot space.
Designed by Vanderbyl Design, the studio was configured to address the needs of the current generation of workplaces.
Pieces from the brand’s own product line have been used to furnish the space as well as B&B Italia’s Project collection comprising coordinating tables, chairs, casegoods and seating.
Upon entering, visitors are met by an open, relaxed meeting area with a generous bench ‘hearth’ table, extending near the entire depth of the space.
Behind the entrance area is a library lounge with a built-in cushioned bench, surrounded by a custom built bookshelves to home the collection of books researched, written and published by Teknion.
Adjacent to the library, there is also an open lounge with a coffee and wine bar.
Teknion’s extensive textile collection and product finishes are shown on a workbench, with extra space for viewing samples and swatches to match products and palette concepts.
The company’s own Optos and Altos glass wall systems have been used as full height space dividers to portion office and conference areas, to allow plenty of natural light as well as keeping a sense of openness.
