December 2015 saw the opening of Kinnasand’s second flagship showroom in the historic Haut-Marais, a Parisian district well known for its creative inhabitants.
The French showroom follows the brand’s first opening in Milan, which was designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito in 2014.
The new space is spread across 62 sq meters in the courtyard on 33 Rue Charlot in a national heritage building, protected by plan du sauvgarde du Marais. Once home to a copper foundary, the historical building is now filled Kinnasand’s entire collection of contemporary Nordic designs.
Split between a ground floor and mezzanine levels, the showroom was furnished following minimal Scandinavian style with simple shapes, soft colours and warm lighting to complement Kinnasand’s textiles and rugs.
A selection of understated pieces furnishes the interior with furniture from iconic brands such as Maruni, Vitra, Knoll, Molteni and Flos, with curtains made using Kinnasand’s own fabrics.
