Three Questions on Color with Jonathan Adler

Earlier this month, 3rings reviewed the bold new collection, KOHLER Colors Featuring Jonathan Adler, and we were left with more questions. Three to be exact.

Where was your starting point when designing this collection?
JA:
I love colored sinks and I wanted to update the feel so it’s not your grandmother’s avocado sink. I wanted the palette to be tangy and fresh but accessible.

Were there any colors that didn’t make the cut? Why?
JA: I am distraught that orange did not make the cut but only because it is so hard to achieve that color safely.

What is the state of color in today’s American market? Friend or foe?
JA: Friend, friend, friend. Color is back with a vengeance and I have never been happier.
