Construction has begun on the Payne Maryland Community Center, a multifunctional community center designed to support recreational and educational programming for the culturally diverse Arlington Hills neighborhood on St. Paul’s east side. Designed by HGA Architects and Engineers, the two-story, 42,000-square-foot Community Center at the corner of Payne and Maryland avenues includes a branch library, recreational space, community rooms, and classrooms.

The building is designed to meet LEED® certification. Completion is scheduled for fall 2013.
