Gran Kriegel Associates has three projects in design for the United States Coast Guard under a multi-year “indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity” contract.

Facilities are sited throughout District 1, which stretches from Sandy Hook, New Jersey to Eastport, Maine. The disparate projects include renovations to the control tower at Air Station Cape Cod in Massachusetts, repair and renovation of personnel dormitories at Station Fire Island in New York, and the mid-life renovation of Smith Hall, a physical sciences facility at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.
At Air Station Cape Cod, Gran Kriegel is identifying, prioritizing, and designing needed repairs of the 1950s air traffic control tower, originally built by the US Air Force. The specific elements addressed include overall life safety upgrades, egress and code compliance, elevator replacement, concrete catwalk repairs, roof replacement, exterior railing replacement and galvanized steel siding replacement.
