Jiangsu Shagang Group Hongrun Real Estate Development, a subsidiary of a major steel conglomerate in China’s Jiangsu Province, has selected RTKL’s design for its tower development, the Zhangjiagang Twin Towers set to open by the end of 2015.

The global design firm beat out several other competitors for the winning bid. The entry included architectural design for the first phase of the project, which encompasses twin towers of 268m and 188m connected by an elliptical atrium, and a master plan for the second phase of the project, which covers four retail and 16 residential buildings. Both towers will be taller than any other building in the area and the 268m hotel and serviced apartment tower will be the tallest building in Zhangjiagang. Connecting the two towers, the atrium will be a bright, open space that is sheltered from the elements, ideal for socializing and community gathering. It is also part of a 60,000-SM multi-level retail, dining and entertainment center.
The Zhangjiagang Twin Towers are scheduled for completion at the end of 2015.
