New Ravenna Mosaics

Inspired by the 17th century parquetry wood floors, Virginia-based mosaic designer Sara Baldwin has created four tile designs for her own brand New Ravenna Mosaics. However, unlike the decorative wooden designs that you’ll find gracing the floors of the Royal Château in Versailles, Ravenna’s tiles are made from exquisite waterjet cut jewel glass and natural stone.

Each design is assembled by hand at the New Ravenna studio in Exmore, Virginia

Baldwin, the founder and creative director of New Ravenna Mosaics explains “I realized that parquet flooring in wood is a classic form that would lend itself beautifully to stone and glass. Our materials have natural striations that are only enhanced by the process of reassembling the geometric pieces.”

Truman, Newman, Rubrik and Marshall are available in stone for interior and exterior floors and walls and in glass for interior vertical walls. The mosaics are custom made to order for each installation.
