Mirrored Tiles of the Platino Collection by Nemo Tile Company

When something is given “a mirrored look”, it doesn’t make it reflective. The Nemo Tile Company could tell us this with a show of their electroplating power which creates the illusion that their glass tiles of the Platino Collection are in fact miniature mirrors cut in a variety of different shapes and sizes.

According to the trustable sources of Wikipedia we all adore, electroplating is defined as a plating process in which metal ions in a solution are moved by an electric field to coat an electrode. In other words, it uses a current to coat a conductive object with a thin layer of the material, such as a metal. In this specific case, the Platino Collection of glass tiles are coated with stainless steel, giving it that sheen glow reminiscent of tiny pieces from a broken mirror.

The Nemo Tile website states that “the mirrored finish is an ideal solution for restaurants, nightclubs, and other applications where a reflective surface is desired, but in customizable formats.” Going on to compare it to tempered glass, Nemo Tile explains the customizable options of the Platino, saying how “these tiles can be cut to any size or shape-from intricate mosaics to modules up to 24 inches square – as well as varying thickness for a dimensional effect.” After treating the glass, each piece of Platino is virtually scratch-proof, rust-proof, and are conveniently washed with typical kitchen cleaner.

Add the Platino Collection tiles into mosaics with many other shapes of the same electroplated finish, or combine them with tiles of your choice for a truly one-of-a-kind effect.
